Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook menu items with precision, consistency, and flair, adhering to recipes and presentation standards
- Assist in menu planning by providing input on dish execution and ingredient needs
- Ensure all food handling practices meet safety and sanitation regulations to maintain a clean and safe kitchen environment
- Support food preparation activities such as chopping, marinating, portioning, and plating to streamline service
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including knives, ovens, grills, and fryers
- Maintain cleanliness of workstations, utensils, and cooking areas throughout shifts
- Collaborate with team members to deliver excellent food service and uphold high standards of quality and efficiency
Experience
- Previous kitchen experience in a restaurant or food industry setting is highly preferred
- Demonstrated culinary experience with strong knife skills and meal preparation techniques
- Familiarity with food safety protocols and proper food handling procedures
- Experience in dietary departments or dietary aide roles is a plus
- Knowledge of catering services and food service operations enhances your fit for this role
