Position summary
Ellie Mental Health is a rapidly growing, locally owned, outpatient mental health practice providing therapy services to children, adults, couples and families in the Collier and Lee County areas. We recently opened our 3rd office in Ft. Myers with plans to open another 2 offices in the next 2-3 years.
We are hiring a part-time Provider Outreach Liaison to grow our referral provider network and generate new client leads across Collier and Lee County areas. This person will be the face of our practice in the community, building relationships with primary care offices and other referral sources, educating them on Ellie’s services, and creating a consistent pipeline of qualified referrals.

What success looks like
- Develop a reliable base of active referral relationships with primary care providers, pediatricians, OB/GYNs, psychiatrists, school counselors, case managers, and other aligned community partners.
- Increase awareness of Ellie Mental Health in the local provider community through consistent office visits, lunches, educational touchpoints, events, and follow-up.
- Generate qualified referrals that convert into scheduled consultations/intakes and, ultimately, ongoing care.
- Build a visible, organized, and measurable referral pipeline rather than ad hoc outreach activity.
Key responsibilities
- Own field outreach to targeted primary care and referral offices across Naples, Estero, Bonita Springs, and Fort Myers.
- Build and maintain relationships with physicians, practice managers, referral coordinators, office staff, discharge planners, school contacts, and community partners.
- Present Ellie’s service offering clearly and professionally, including therapy services, populations served, intake process, access points, insurance/payment basics, and what makes the practice easy to refer to.
- Create and execute a practical territory plan with target account lists, weekly visit cadence, priority segments, and follow-up sequences.
- Schedule and conduct office drop-ins, formal meetings, lunches, in-services, community events, and referral-source check-ins.
- Track all outreach activity, contacts, next steps, and referral outcomes in our excel tracker.
- Coordinate closely with clinic leadership and scheduling team so referral sources receive timely follow-up and a strong first impression.
- Identify referral friction points, including unanswered calls, slow response times, unclear messaging, or scheduling bottlenecks, and surface solutions quickly.
- Maintain an inventory of outreach materials and ensure every touchpoint reflects Ellie’s brand and professionalism.
- Represent the practice with warmth, credibility, consistency, and urgency.
- Work collaboratively with the Ellie leadership team and owner
Required qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in healthcare outreach, physician liaison work, medical sales, provider relations, home health/hospice liaison work, practice development, or community-based business development.
- Strong comfort building relationships with physicians’ offices and professional referral sources in person.
- Highly organized, self-directed, and accountable in a field-based role.
- Ability to communicate clearly, professionally, and persuasively with both clinical and non-clinical audiences.
- Experience tracking activity and managing follow-ups.
- Ability to work collaboratively across the Ellie staff and ownership
- Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and willingness to travel locally throughout the territory.
Preferred qualifications
- Experience launching a new territory, not just maintaining an inherited one.
- Existing relationships with primary care offices, pediatricians, OB/GYNs, school counselors, or behavioral-health-adjacent providers in Collier or Lee County is a major plus (but not required).
- Behavioral health, therapy, psychiatry, or healthcare-services experience ideal (but not required).
- Spanish fluency is a plus.
