POSITION SUMMARY:
Provides assistance in food preparation for residents ensuring a cleanly, safe and pleasant kitchen environment through effective performance of assigned functions and tasks.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assists Food Service Director Chef in the preparation of menu items.
- Responsible for preparation and implementation of menu items in the Food Service Directors absence.
- Designated supervisor in absence of Director of Food Service as assigned.
- Provides feedback to Food Service Director from residents and staff regarding menu.
- Supervises food preparation personnel during shift as assigned.
- Notifies Food Service Director of food supply needs.
- Demonstrates ability to learn new techniques and presentations.
- Ensures kitchen and prep area is clean and sanitary as per state health, and company regulations and standards.
- Shares existing culinary expertise with other staff to facilitate their learning, providing in-service training when requested.
- Assists marketing department by, providing prospects with information as requested to include properly answering telephone, and generally presenting dining services in accordance with established Standards for Dining Department.
- Attends in-service training as requested.
- Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:
- High School Diploma or General Education Degree; or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
