We are seeking a dependable, organized, and safety-focused Parts Runner to support our shop maintenance and field operations by ensuring mechanics receive the parts, materials, and supplies they need to keep our fleet operating efficiently. At Liesfeld Contractor, our Parts Runner is more than a delivery driver—they are a critical member of the Shop responsible for coordinating the movement of parts, supporting inventory management, and helping minimize equipment downtime. Working closely with the Equipment Manager, Shop Foreman, mechanics, vendors, and field personnel, you'll play an important role in keeping our heavy construction equipment, trucks, and fleet operating safely and productively.

Key Responsibilities
- Pick up, transport, and deliver parts, tools, materials, and supplies between vendors, company facilities, and active jobsites in a safe and timely manner
- Coordinate with the Equipment Manager, Shop Foreman, mechanics, and vendors to ensure parts are delivered according to repair priorities and operational needs
- Verify parts received match purchase orders, packing slips, and work order requirements before delivery
- Organize, stock, label, and maintain inventory within the shop and parts storage areas
- Assist with receiving shipments, unloading deliveries, and properly storing parts and materials
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, receipts, inventory transactions, and purchase documentation
- Communicate delivery status, vendor availability, and parts delays to shop personnel
- Return warranty items, cores, and incorrect or damaged parts to vendors as needed
- Perform routine inventory counts and assist with maintaining appropriate stock levels
- Help maintain a clean, organized, and safe shop environment and parts inventory management system
- Inspect company vehicles used for deliveries and report maintenance or safety concerns
- Assist mechanics and shop personnel with miscellaneous shop duties when deliveries are complete
- Operate company vehicles safely while complying with all traffic laws and company policies
- Provide exceptional customer service and maintain professional relationships with vendors and suppliers
- Support emergency parts deliveries during equipment breakdowns or critical field repairs
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid Virginia driver's license with a clean driving record
- Ability to safely operate pickup trucks and company vehicles
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to prioritize multiple deliveries while adapting to changing operational needs
- Basic computer skills, including email and inventory or work order software
- Ability to accurately identify and verify automotive, truck, and heavy equipment parts
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Legally authorized to work in the United States
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience as a Parts Runner, Parts Specialist, Warehouse Associate, Delivery Driver, or similar role
- Experience working in construction, heavy equipment, trucking, or diesel repair environments
- Familiarity with heavy equipment manufacturers such as CAT, John Deere, Komatsu, Link-Belt, Peterbilt, Mack, and Ford
- Experience using inventory management or fleet maintenance software
- Basic knowledge of diesel engines, heavy equipment, and commercial vehicle components
- CDL Class A or B (preferred but not required)
- Bilingual (Spanish) skills are a plus
Physical Requirements
- Ability to frequently lift, carry, push, and pull up to 75 pounds
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb, and reach throughout the workday
- Ability to load and unload parts, tools, tires, and materials safely
- Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Ability to climb into and out of company vehicles multiple times throughout the day
- Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) while working in shop and construction environments
- Ability to travel between company facilities, vendor locations, and active construction jobsites throughout the Greater Richmond area
