Job Overview
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Workers to provide essential support to individuals with developmental disabilities. In this role, you will play a crucial part in enabling persons with developmental disabilities to live in independent homes, and to participate to the maximum extent possible in the community.
Duties
- Personal care and assisting with activities of daily living
- Housecleaning and laundry
- Shopping, meal planning and preparation with the client
- Accompaniment to medical appointments
- Planning and assistance with recreation, in the home and in the community
- Supervision, in the home and in the community
- Creating documentation of support and services delivered to clients
- Report regularly to supervisor regarding client issues
Experience
- Previous experience in caregiving or direct support roles is preferred but not required.
- Familiarity with working with individuals who have developmental disabilities is a plus.
- Knowledge of home health or assisted living environments is beneficial.
- Possession of training and/or experience in health and safety precautions, housecleaning, shopping, meal planning and preparation, personal care, cleaning, bathing, and grooming
- Commitment to providing high-quality care while respecting the dignity of each client

- Ability to read and write routine reports, documents, and correspondence
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
- Attention to detail
- Ability to cultivate and maintain cohesive working relationships with coworkers

- Speak clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations
- Write clearly and informatively, edit work for spelling and grammar
- Ability to operate a computer, related equipment, and software
- Ability to manage time and tasks in order to meet strict deadlines while maintaining quality of work
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $17.49 - $19.11 per hour
