Job description
Composite Advantage is looking for a motivated and reliable candidate to join our rapidly-growing team. The Composite Technician will perform a wide variety of hands-on tasks to support a departmental composite manufacturing process, to include kitting, molding, fabrication and assembly. You will be expected to perform your role with a high focus on quality, safety, and productivity. This is a full-time, direct hire position with 1st shift hours available.
Responsibilities may include and are not limited to:
- Perform manufacturing tasks associated with kitting, grinding, sanding, bonding, molding and/or assembly with a variety of composite materials.
- Act upon and perform work from prints, work orders, documents, and verbal communications.
- Responsibilities include reading blue prints and tape measures to ensure project accuracy. Follows engineering and manufacturing specifications and orders to determine parts to be bonded and the temperature and pressure required. Cuts parts or materials to size.
- The Composite Technician will work with and around a variety of chemicals and follow all OSHA standards in regards to personal protection equipment.
- Maintains a neat and organized work space resulting in a shop floor free from clutter or debris.
- Participates in on-the-job training to enhance skills related to job function, quality, safety, LEAN manufacturing, and other topics as necessary.
- Responsible for observing all applicable safety requirements and reporting immediately any unsafe practices/conditions.
- Other duties as required.
Qualifications
- A technical aptitude; the ability to read, write and perform basic math calculations; the ability to work well with others in a diverse group.
- Able to read a tape measure within 16ths of an inch
- Able to work effectively with a diverse workforce
- Able to communicate effectively orally and in writing
- Able to foster a cooperative work environment
- Experience with hand and power tools, painting, sanding, grinding, drilling and/or other related construction skills is a plus
- Candidates will be required to pass a drug test.
