Greek Life Coordination
Policy, Governance, & Compliance
- Compliance & Assessment: Conduct ongoing qualitative and quantitative assessments to ensure strict compliance with the reporting and procedural requirements of Nicholls State University, the University of Louisiana System, and governing national organizations. Review, complete, and submit all required university and national office reports.
- Accountability & Student Development: Enforce accountability and risk management policies among chapters and their members, balancing disciplinary standards with the spirit of holistic student development.
- Risk Management & Safety: Educate, advise, and monitor chapters regarding risk management, safety protocols, and compliance with all university policies. Manage the review, approval, and processing of campus activity requests and off-campus forms.
- Legal & Industry Standards: Stay abreast of legal, regulatory, and higher education changes impacting Greek Life; make recommendations for policy improvements and campus compliance.
Leadership, Strategic Growth, & Council Support
- Strategic Direction: Carry out specialized tasks, programming, and strategic goals at the direction of the Coordinator of Strategic Greek Initiatives.
- Greek Councils & Chapter Advising: Provide direct oversight, guidance, and administrative support to all Greek Councils, campus advisors, and individual chapters.
- Student Leadership Development: Facilitate leadership development training and advise students on civic engagement, values-based development, and the cultivation of volunteer initiatives.
- Strategic Growth: Assist chapters with strategic growth, sustainability, and building community partnerships to maintain a highly visible, positive presence within both the internal and external Nicholls State University communities.
Operations, Logistics, & Software Management
- Operations & Scheduling: Coordinate the logistical operations of the Greek Life office, including the scheduling of events and managing venue reservations for chapter and council activities.
- Software Management: Utilize and manage specialized campus and Greek life software management platforms to track student rosters, monitor compliance, approve events, and maintain accurate departmental data.
- Financial Recordkeeping: Maintain accurate, compliant, and complete accounting records related to all Greek financial matters, budgets, and transactions.
Recruitment, Marketing, & Communication
- Recruitment & Marketing: Advise chapters on recruitment strategies and organize all Greek Life marketing materials, including recruitment brochures and publications targeting parents and prospective students.
- Stakeholder Communication: Serve as a primary point of contact and maintain proactive communication with national/regional offices, alumni, university departments, and external stakeholders.
- Community Representation: Represent the Greek community at university events, community activities, recruitment showcases, and major Greek Life traditions (e.g., Greek Week activities).
