Schedule: Tuesday through Friday, 7:45AM – 5:45PM
About the Practice:
- Practice has 3 floors, 2 providers per floor, plus cosmetic boutique
- Each provider sees about 30 patients per day
- Medical Assistant patient volume if rooming patients ~60 per day
- Medical Assistant patient volume if 1-1 with provider ~30 per day
- Goal is for the Medical Assistant to give injections, will not be drawing up medicines, they utilize an auto-injector
- Will be primarily on the medical dermatology side, may occasionally go to the cosmetic boutique side
Requirements:
- 2+ years of Medical Assistant experience, dermatology specialty preferred
- Must have current National MA Certification
- EMR experience is required, practice utilizes Epic
- Knowledge of medical terminology and adherence to HIPAA guidelines
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, employees, and the public
- Looking for a self-starter who is well organized and detail oriented
Responsibilities:
- Escort patients to exam rooms and take medical history from the patient
- Enter patient information into electronic medical records (Epic)
- Clean, organize, stock, and prepare exam rooms
- Assist providers with in-office, minor surgical procedures
- Assist with suture removals, biologic injections, wound care, Unna Boot application, UV booth treatments, UV laser treatments
- Sterilize surgical instruments
- Manage biohazards and sharps containers
- Complete weekly inventory of medical supplies, complete weekly order form including office, medical, and lab supplies
- Accompany the provider in the exam room and scribe what the provider says using either macros or scribing what they say verbatim
- Manage triage calls and results of notifications
- Queue up medications and lab orders for the provider to sign and send to the pharmacy or laboratory
- Assist the provider in medical billing by putting CPT codes, surgical, and destruction codes in the patient’s chart that gets sent to the billing department for review and post to insurance companies
Pay: $23.00 - $26.00 per hour
