American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Surgical ICU (STICU) position at an acute care hospital in Georgia, requiring ICU experience in a Level 1 or 2 trauma center and proficiency with specialized cardiovascular and critical care devices.

20-bed Surgical ICU (STICU) in an acute care hospital setting

Typical patient ratio is 2:1, with 1:1 ratios common for higher acuity patients
-
Patient population includes neuro patients (including herniation and brain drains), ortho trauma requiring traction, cardiovascular device patients (balloon pumps, Impellas, EKOS), post-op open-heart CABG patients, open abdomen patients, and renal patients requiring CRRT
-
An ECMO program is planned to launch during this assignment

Medical ICU patients may be admitted to the unit when sister units are at capacity

Charting system: MEDITECH
-
Day shift, 12-hour shifts (7a–7p), every other weekend required
-
17-week contract
-
Active RN license — Georgia state license or Compact RN license accepted

Current certifications required: BLS (AHA), ACLS, and NIHSS

Minimum 2 years of RN experience required

Prior ICU or STICU experience in a Level 1 or Level 2 trauma center required

Hands-on experience with specialized devices such as balloon pumps, Impellas, EKOS, and/or CRRT strongly preferred

Driver's license required for consideration

BSN not required

Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position

Candidates who have been employed by this facility within the last 12 months are not eligible
