Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and skilled CNC Router Operator to join our architectural signage production team. In this role, you will set up, program, and operate CNC routers to fabricate high-quality custom signage, wayfinding systems, and architectural elements. You will work closely with our design and fabrication teams to transform digital vector files into precise, physical components using a wide variety of premium materials.
Core Responsibilities
- Machine Operation: Set up, calibrate, and safely operate CNC routers (e.g., MultiCam, Vision, ShopSabre).
- File Management & CAM: Review technical drawings and import vector artwork files (DXF, DWG, AI) into CAM software to generate accurate toolpaths and G-code.
- Material Handling: Select, load, and secure various rigid substrates, including acrylic, aluminum composite material (ACM), PVC, aluminum, high-density urethane (HDU), and wood.
- Tooling & Maintenance: Select correct router bits and feed rates based on material specs; perform routine machine maintenance, tool changes, and grid calibrations.
- Quality Assurance: Inspect finished parts using calipers and tape measures to ensure total accuracy against blueprints; deburr, sand, and prep parts for the fabrication/assembly/finishing team.
- Shop Safety: Maintain a clean, organized workstation and strictly adhere to all personal protective equipment (PPE) and OSHA safety protocols.
Qualifications & Skills
- Experience: Minimum 1–2 years of experience operating CNC routers, plasma cutters, or lasers, ideally within the sign manufacturing, exhibit, or custom woodworking industry. We will train for the right candidate.
- Software Proficiency: Hands-on experience with CAM/nesting software such as EnRoute, VCarve, Mastercam, or Aspire. Basic knowledge of Adobe Illustrator or CorelDRAW is a strong plus.
- Technical Skills: Ability to read and interpret architectural blueprints, technical drawings, and material spec sheets.
- Physical Demands: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly, stand for extended periods, and safely handle large sheet goods.

Pay: $22.00 - $28.00 per hour
