About the Role
Sunstone Winery is seeking a confident, self-sufficient hospitality professional. This is a hands-on role requiring strong service skills, sales ability, operational awareness, and comfort working independently during busy evening hours. This position offers growth to full-time potential for the right candidate.
This position reports to the Tasting Room Manager, who oversees both tasting room locations. The Tasting Room Educator is responsible for executing daily operations, upholding standards, and support the direction of the Tasting Room.
Operations
- Open and close tasting room independently
- Manage nightly cash handling, POS reconciliation, and deposits
- Monitor wine, change, and supply levels and communicate restock needs proactively
- Lead service floor when working alone or with one additional team member
- Maintain compliance with ABC and safety regulations
Guest Experience & Sales
- Host wine tastings and provide engaging wine education
- Drive wine sales and wine club sign-ups
- Serve as point of contact for guest questions and concerns
- Deliver polished, elevated hospitality
Beverage & Food Service
- Prepare wine-based cocktails and mocktails
- Handle cheese boxes and prepared food items (upon launch)
- Follow food safety and cleanliness standards
Hospitality & Support (Hands-On Role)
- Restock wine, glassware, and service supplies throughout shift
- Wash and polish glassware
- Bus and reset tables promptly
- Maintain cleanliness of tasting room, bar, and restrooms
- Perform end-of-night cleaning procedures
- Support club packing and light inventory tasks as needed
Qualifications
- Must be 21+
- Current RBS/TIPS Certification (or ability to obtain within 30 days)
- Previous hospitality, bar, tasting room, or restaurant experience required
- Comfortable handling cash and POS systems
- Ability to work independently during busy shifts
- Sales-oriented with strong communication skills
- Ability to lift 50 lbs and stand for extended periods
- Weekend and holiday availability required
