We are in need of a Warehouse Operations Director for a prominent food manufacturing company with an advanced automated distribution center located in Atlanta. The main responsibilities of this role include overseeing a warehouse operation that operates around the clock to facilitate the movement of finished food products from manufacturing to distribution, with a primary focus on Automated Storage and Retrieval Systems (ASRS), high-bay crane systems, WMS execution, inventory accuracy, food safety compliance, and customer fulfillment.
This is not your typical warehouse position. We are looking for candidates with hands-on leadership experience in a high-volume food manufacturing or distribution environment that utilizes ASRS crane systems. The ideal candidate will know how to effectively manage people, systems, automation, inventory, and product flow in a fast-paced, audit-ready food operation.
- Manage a 24/7 warehouse operation in support of a high-volume food manufacturing environment
- Supervise warehouse leadership teams across various shifts
- Oversee the performance of ASRS crane systems, automated storage solutions, WMS, ERP, and other warehouse technologies
- Collaborate with various departments to ensure safe, accurate, and efficient product flow
- Enhance inventory accuracy, order fulfillment, shipping performance, and warehouse productivity
- Improve ASRS uptime, system utilization, loading accuracy, and overall productivity
- Handle labor planning, budget management, capital projects, and automation initiatives
- Foster a safety-first, food-safety-focused warehouse culture
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and food safety standards
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Engineering, Business, or related field
- 7+ years of progressive warehouse/distribution leadership experience
- Minimum of 2 years in a senior warehouse leadership role
- Previous experience in food manufacturing or distribution
- Hands-on leadership experience with ASRS, particularly high-bay automated crane systems
- Proficiency in WMS, ERP, inventory control, FIFO, and warehouse automation
- Experience managing large multi-shift warehouse operations
- Familiarity with food safety regulations and audit-ready warehouse practices
- Expertise in labor planning, budgeting, KPIs, inventory accuracy, and cost management
- Ability to collaborate cross-functionally with various departments
