BITS is a growing software development company in Washington DC area. We provide database solutions, application development, infrastructure supports, network engineering, and high-end computing using innovative technologies to the health agencies. We are looking for a System Administrator (Level III) for one of our FEDERAL projects.
Job Description:
- Administer, maintain, and troubleshoot Active Directory, Domain Controllers, ADFS, and AD LDS environments.
- Develop, maintain, and automate administrative tasks using PowerShell scripting.
- Monitor and manage enterprise infrastructure using System Center Operations Manager (SCOM).
- Install, configure, and maintain VMware ESXi hosts and virtual infrastructure.
- Manage Windows Server environments, ensuring high availability, performance, and security.
- Perform advanced troubleshooting and root cause analysis for complex infrastructure issues.
- Manage Microsoft 365 services including Exchange Online, Microsoft Teams, Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD), and Microsoft Defender.
- Configure and maintain backup and recovery solutions using Veeam and/or Backup Exec.
- Administer storage infrastructure and support SAN environments.
- Perform server hardware installation, maintenance, upgrades, and lifecycle management.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement infrastructure improvements and ensure system reliability.
- Document system configurations, procedures, and operational best practices.
- Ensure compliance with organizational security standards and change management processes.

Minimum education/experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in science, technology, engineering or math or related field with a minimum of 8 years’ experience.
- 8–9 years of experience in Windows Infrastructure Administration or System Engineering.
- Strong experience managing enterprise Microsoft environments.
- Proven expertise in virtualization, identity management, and infrastructure automation.
- Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
- Experience working in enterprise or large-scale production environments is preferred.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $140,000.00 - $145,000.00 per year
