Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and strategic Manager of Distribution Operations to lead and optimize our distribution network. In this pivotal role, you will oversee the end-to-end management of warehouse and transportation functions, ensuring seamless coordination across all logistics activities. Duties
- Lead and supervise daily distribution operations, including shipping, receiving, inventory control, and warehouse management systems.
- Develop and implement process improvement initiatives utilizing Lean principles and continuous improvement methodologies to increase efficiency and reduce costs.
- Oversee transportation planning, freight management, fleet operations, and third-party logistics (3PL) partnerships to ensure timely delivery and optimal resource utilization.
- Manage budgeting, procurement, and inventory management processes to maintain accurate stock levels and control costs effectively.
- Utilize ERP systems, supply chain analytics tools, and warehouse management systems such as AS400 or similar platforms for data-driven decision-making.
- Coordinate production planning, demand forecasting, and order fulfillment activities to meet customer expectations while optimizing warehouse distribution workflows.
- Supervise warehouse staff and team members, providing managerial communication, training, and performance feedback to foster a motivated and high-performing team.
Requirements
- Proven experience in distribution operations management with a strong understanding of logistics management, warehouse operations, and supply chain processes.
- Demonstrated supervisory experience leading teams within warehouse or distribution environments.
- Expertise in transportation management systems (TMS), warehouse management systems (WMS), ERP platforms (e.g., SAP, Oracle), and supply chain analytics tools.
- Strong knowledge of freight forwarding (including NVOCC) procedures, procurement processes, inventory control techniques, and shipping & receiving protocols.
- Familiarity with process management methodologies such as Lean or Six Sigma for process improvement initiatives.
- Excellent managerial communication skills with the ability to lead teams effectively across multiple functions.
- Ability to manage budgets, demand planning, production scheduling, and continuous improvement projects with a focus on operational excellence.
- Hands-on experience with forklift operation certification preferred; familiarity with AS400 or similar legacy systems is advantageous.

Pay: $90,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
