Position Overview:
We are looking for an experienced Stainless Steel Welder/Fabricator to join our team in New Jersey. In this hands-on role, you'll fabricate, repair, and modify stainless steel and carbon steel components used in custom oil delivery equipment.
This position involves building custom oil delivery trucks, fabricating steel storage tanks, and repairing specialized equipment where precision and quality are essential. Candidates with their own welding truck/rig and experience performing mobile welding are strongly preferred.
This is a part-time position with a flexible schedule. Typical workdays are Monday through Friday, starting between 6:00 AM and 8:00 AM and lasting approximately 6–8 hours. Weekly hours will vary based on project workload and the agreed-upon hourly rate.
Responsibilities:
- Perform TIG welding on stainless steel and MIG welding on carbon steel.
- Produce high-quality, leak-free welds on tanks, piping, and related equipment.
- Fabricate custom steel oil tanks and components.
- Assist with the construction and outfitting of custom oil delivery trucks.
- Repair and modify tanks, piping, and other fabricated equipment.
- Cut, fit, grind, and finish materials to meet quality standards.
- Inspect completed work for accuracy and weld integrity.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
- Perform fabrication and repair work both in the shop and at customer locations when needed.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of welding and fabrication experience preferred.
- Strong TIG welding experience on stainless steel.
- MIG welding experience on carbon steel.
- Experience producing leak-free welds on tanks, vessels, or similar equipment.
- Experience using fabrication tools such as saws, grinders, and cutting equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Valid driver's license required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience fabricating fuel, oil, or liquid storage tanks.
- Experience building or modifying commercial truck bodies or utility equipment.
- Knowledge of leak testing procedures.
- Familiarity with DOT tank requirements is a plus.
- Experience performing field repairs or mobile welding.
