We are seeking a dependable and hardworking Carpenter Helper / Apprentice to assist our Journeyman Carpenter with residential and light commercial construction projects. This position is ideal for someone who wants to learn the carpentry trade while gaining hands-on experience in framing, finish carpentry, remodeling, and general construction practices.
The ideal candidate is punctual, safety-conscious, willing to learn, and comfortable working with tools and materials in a fast-paced construction environment.
Responsibilities
- Assist journeyman carpenter with daily construction tasks
- Load, unload, and organize tools and materials
- Measure, cut, and prepare materials as directed
- Assist with framing, siding, drywall backing, blocking, and finish work
- Maintain clean and safe job sites
- Operate basic hand tools and power tools safely
- Follow instructions and construction plans accurately
- Help with demolition and site preparation as needed
- Support installation of doors, windows, cabinets, trim, and hardware
- Follow OSHA and company safety procedures at all times
Qualifications
- Construction or carpentry experience preferred but not required
- Basic knowledge of hand and power tools
- Strong work ethic and willingness to learn
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work outdoors in varying conditions
- Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license preferred
- Ability to take direction and work as part of a team
- Punctual and dependable attendance
Preferred Skills
- Familiarity with residential construction
- Ability to read a tape measure accurately
- Experience with saws, drills, nail guns, and layout tools
- Basic understanding of job site safety practices
