The Linux Systems Administrator shall be responsible for overseeing the administration and maintenance aspects of a Linux cluster to make sure that all the architected components are properly installed, configured, and integrated as defined in the customer’s system architecture.
SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIRED: Active TS/SCI clearance required
Responsibilities include:
- Maintain clustered systems availability for end-users, but also create and document site procedures, system diagrams, and other configuration or support documents.
- Solve system hardware, software, and third-party software issues, and provide detailed and thoughtful analysis of problem and solution. Maintain system software and firmware, patches, updates, and OS upgrades.
- Gather data, perform analysis, and escalate problems to higher-level product support groups and appropriate management when necessary to ensure timely resolution of system or customer issues.
- Liaison between DOD/Government customer and, vendor of specially built mission-related HPC clustered system(s).
- Provide solutions and implement repair or work-arounds, when possible, fully documenting steps taken when required.
- Manage software issues for both the system and user applications, submitting and tracking bugs as required. Answer customer inquiries concerning system software versions, product lifecycles, new releases, and third-party applications.
- Become the technical subject matter expert for the DOD customer Provide on-site escalation path for issues Work with vendor HPC Customer Support Center to drive open cases to closure
- Assist in racking configuring and troubleshooting specialized systems.
Job Requirements:
- Top Secret Clearance
- Extensive Knowledge of Linux OS
- Experience developing scripts using Bash/Python
- Experience using the Unix command line
- General Systems Engineering technical knowledge regarding computing, network, memory, and storage components
- Active Directory, NFS, Block storage, filesystems, parallel filesystems
- Experience developing with multiple high-level programming languages in a Unix environment
- Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and virtualization (VMWare, KWM, etc)
- Experience developing test plans, operational assessment test reports, and associated documentation
- Experience with automating test procedures
- Experience with performing benchmarking testing Experience with Git source code repository
- Experience with configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting network-based systems.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous implementation experience or 4+ years of smart hands data center experience.
- Current and/or former military
- Experience working with government agencies
- Linux Administration certificate or experience in Linux/Unix
- RedHat Certification ( RHCE or RHCA)
- Experience working in data centers

Pay: $90,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
