Job Overview
QCR is hiring full-time Air Duct Cleaning and Mold Remediation Technicians to work at Fort Riley.
Technicians will perform air duct cleaning, mold remediation, and related indoor environmental services while protecting property and maintaining a clean, professional work area. Previous air duct cleaning, HVAC cleaning, mold remediation, restoration, or construction experience is preferred, but it is not required. We are willing to train dependable candidates who have a strong work ethic and are comfortable performing hands-on work.
Because this position is located on an active military installation, applicants must be able to pass all required background screening and obtain and maintain authorization to access Fort Riley.
Responsibilities
- Clean residential air ducts, vents, registers, returns, and related HVAC components
- Perform mold remediation work according to company procedures and applicable safety requirements
- Set up containment, air filtration, and other work-area controls when required
- Safely use cleaning equipment, vacuums, hand tools, ladders, and personal protective equipment
- Move through attics, crawlspaces, utility areas, and other confined or limited-access spaces when necessary
- Protect flooring, furniture, walls, and residents’ belongings during service
- Work respectfully and professionally inside occupied homes
- Communicate clearly with residents, supervisors, and other team members
- Take jobsite photographs and complete required service documentation
- Maintain clean, organized equipment, vehicles, and work areas
- Follow company safety policies and all Fort Riley access and conduct requirements
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Must be able to pass the background screening required for access to Fort Riley
- Must be able to obtain and maintain access authorization for the military installation
- Must be dependable, punctual, and available for full-time work
- Must be comfortable working inside occupied residential homes
- Must communicate professionally and treat residents and their property with respect
- Must be able to follow written and verbal instructions
- Must be able to work independently and as part of a team
- Must be willing to wear required personal protective equipment, including a respirator when necessary
- Must have reliable transportation to the required reporting location
Preferred Experience
Experience in any of the following areas is helpful but not required:
- Air duct or HVAC system cleaning
- Mold remediation
- Water, fire, or property-damage restoration
- Residential HVAC service
- Construction, maintenance, or general labor
- Working in occupied residential properties
- Using negative-air machines, HEPA vacuums, air scrubbers, or similar equipment
Training will be provided to qualified candidates who do not have previous industry experience.
Physical Requirements
This is an active, hands-on position. Technicians must be able to:
- Frequently stand, walk, bend, kneel, reach, and climb stairs
- Work from ladders and in attics, crawlspaces, and other limited-access areas
- Lift and carry up to [50] pounds, with assistance when appropriate
- Work while wearing protective clothing and respiratory protection
- Work in hot, dusty, damp, or otherwise challenging conditions
- Safely perform repetitive cleaning and equipment-handling tasks
