About the Opportunity
Our client is seeking an experienced Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for a full-time contract opportunity in Queens, NY. This position is ideal for an LPN with strong Pediatric care experience who thrives in a high-volume hospital environment and is committed to delivering exceptional patient care.
Candidates must have a minimum of two (2) years of recent Pediatric LPN experience.
The hourly pay rate is $38.00 per hour. Actual compensation may vary based on experience, qualifications, and other job-related factors. Additional details will be discussed during the interview process.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to patients within the LPN scope of practice
- Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately
- Monitor patient conditions and promptly report changes to the healthcare team
- Document patient assessments, treatments, and progress accurately in the electronic medical record (EMR)
- Assist physicians and Registered Nurses with examinations, procedures, and emergency interventions
- Prepare patients for diagnostic testing and treatment
- Collaborate with physicians, Registered Nurses, and interdisciplinary healthcare professionals
- Maintain compliance with infection prevention, patient safety, and hospital policies
- Deliver compassionate, patient-centered care in a fast-paced Emergency Department setting
Requirements
- Active and unrestricted New York State Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license (required)
- Minimum of two (2) years of recent hospital Pediatric LPN experience required
- Pediatric experience preferred
- Current BLS certification required
- Strong clinical assessment and patient care skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced acute care environment
