Creative Dining Services at Aquinas College is seeking a part-time Stock Coordinator.
Shift is M-W-F 8am-12pm, occasional Thursdays and/or weekends
As a Stock coordinator, your responsibilities are to ensure the facility is clean, sanitary, safe and suitable for food preparation and the customer experience. Ensures equipment, loading areas, and food storage areas are clean, in good working condition, and are regularly attended to.
Essential Functions/Responsibilities
- Receives all incoming deliveries.
- Incoming food quality and temperature must be checked during acceptance and checking in of all goods, especially meats, dairy, and produce items.
- Store all items neatly and in the place designated by the manager.
- Organize all products in the storerooms, walk-ins, freezers, and refrigerators.
- Rotate all items using the “First in- First out” method (FIFO).
- The attendant will not allow anyone into the storage areas whose job does not require them to be there.
- The attendant must be able to work with the cooks, and Salad Dept. Part of the job does require that food is pulled from the freezer to thaw a few days prior to production. The lead cook will give the storeroom attendant a list of items to be thawed. Any items that are not available must be reported to the Production Manager immediately.
- Help with inventory at a specified time of the month.
- Report any perishable items not used before the next delivery day to the Lead Cook’s attention.
- All frozen or refrigerated items must be put away within one[1] hour of delivery.
- All items must be checked off of each invoice to be sure that all items on the list came in.
- A manager must be notified of any changes or substitutions on an order before the driver leaves.
- All invoices must go to the unit bookkeeper immediately after all items are checked.
- Any discrepancies between the invoice and the delivery must be brought to the Manager’s attention.
- The storage areas must be kept neat, clean, and organized at all times.
- Sweep and mop the storeroom daily.
- Any known pilferage by any employee or non-employee must be reported to the unit manager immediately.
- Organize back dock and receiving area daily.
- For those working in a lead role, additional duties include:
- Provide leadership and instruction; Keep management apprised of overall operations;
- Refer and provide information to higher level manager/supervisor regarding issues or concerns; and perform other duties as assigned.
Physical Demands/Work Environment
The Utility/Storeroom Attendant position involves physical cleaning work in all food service areas. This includes surfaces in kitchen, dish room, dining room, loading dock, storage areas, bathrooms, etc. and emptying trash receptacles. Requires moving inventory, carts, tables, chairs, or equipment along with restocking of bathroom and cleaning supplies. Follow safe use instructions for cleaning chemicals. Environment may include hot, cold, or humid temperatures and wet floors and loud noise. Must be able to move/lift up to 50 lbs.

- High school diploma or equivalent preferred but not required
