Part-Time Personal Care Assistant / Companion Caregiver - $25/hr
Location: Mystic, CT 06355 - Mason’s Island area
Pay: $25/hour, based on experience and fit
Schedule: Part-time and flexible, with strongest current need for weekday afternoons/evenings, Thursday mornings, Saturdays, and Sundays
We are hiring kind, reliable, upbeat part-time personal care assistants / companion caregivers to support two charming brothers in their mid-60s who live at their home in Mystic and have cognitive disorders.
This is meaningful, steady work in a beautiful private family home on Mason’s Island. The brothers are loved, well-supported, and cared for by their live-in sister and an established daily care team. The goal is simple: help them stay safe, comfortable, active, engaged, and happy in the home they love.
This is a good fit for someone who is warm, patient, positive, practical, and steady; someone who enjoys helping people directly and can bring calm, common sense, and good judgment into an active household.
Responsibilities may include:
· Support with ADLs, meals, hydration, exercises, incontinence care, and comfort
· Supervision, engagement, and gentle redirection
· Helping with daily routines, structure, and activities
· Accompanying them to the gym, therapies, errands, or appointments, when appropriate
· Care-related household tasks such as laundry, light cleaning, organization, and meal support
· Communicating clearly with the brothers’ younger sister and working well with the rest of the great care team
· Occasional optional travel by private plane to Maryland for overnight medical treatment with the brothers and their sister, if the candidate is interested. This is not required.
Ideal candidate:
· Reliable, kind, patient, upbeat, smart, and emotionally steady
· Comfortable supporting adults with cognitive impairment, dementia-type needs, disability, or age-related decline
· Able to work independently while still communicating well with the family and care team
· Good judgment, strong follow-through, and a calm presence
· Prior CNA, HHA, PCA, elder care, disability care, dementia care, EMT, nursing student, therapy aide, or family caregiving experience is helpful, but the right temperament matters most
