Sales Estimator / Project Consultant — Wallpaper & Painting

Intracoastal Wallcovering is growing and looking for a confident, detail-oriented Sales Estimator / Project Consultant to help us sell residential wallpaper installation and interior painting projects around the Wilmington area.
This is not a desk-only estimating job. You'll meet homeowners in person, walk projects, measure rooms and walls, take photos and videos, understand the scope, help prepare accurate quotes, and follow up to help close work. We're looking for someone who is comfortable talking to customers, understands painting, wallpaper, remodeling, construction, or home services, and wants to earn based on performance.
Responsibilities
- Run in-home estimates for wallpaper installation and painting projects
- Meet with homeowners and clearly explain the scope of work
- Measure walls and rooms and gather accurate project details
- Take clear photos and videos of each job
- Identify important scope items: wall condition, prep needs, wallpaper type, pattern repeat, removal, paint areas, ceiling heights, and access issues
- Help prepare accurate estimates and proposals
- Follow up with customers after estimates are sent
- Help close sold projects and hand off clear job details to the production team
- Communicate professionally with customers, installers, painters, and the office team
- Keep notes organized so jobs are sold and produced correctly
Ideal Candidate
- Experience in painting, wallpaper, remodeling, construction, real estate, home services, or in-home sales
- Comfortable walking homes and talking with homeowners
- Strong attention to detail with measurements, photos, and notes
- Confident, professional, and good with people
- Organized and able to follow up consistently
- Able to learn our pricing, process, and standards
- Hungry, reliable, coachable, and performance-driven
- Motivated by commission-based pay and wants real earning upside
Requirements
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- Comfortable driving to customer homes around the Wilmington area
- Strong communication skills
- Basic ability to measure rooms and walls accurately
- Comfortable using a phone for photos, notes, messages, and follow-up
- Previous painting, wallpaper, construction, remodeling, or sales experience preferred
Compensation
This is a commission-based role with strong earning potential. Expected earnings range from approximately $50,000–$90,000 per year depending on sales performance, close rate, and job volume. Fuel reimbursement is provided. Commission is paid on sold and collected jobs. A small base or training ramp may be available for the right candidate during initial onboarding.
