We are seeking a skilled and experienced Engineering Technician III to join our team!
The Engineering Technician III serves as a key personnel role responsible for supporting engineering operations, testing, and equipment handling. This position requires hands-on technical expertise, independent execution of recurring assignments, and the ability to adapt standard procedures to meet project requirements. Work is performed with minimal supervision and is reviewed for technical adequacy and compliance with established guidelines.
Responsibilities
Equipment Operation & Handling:
- Operate cranes and rigging equipment in compliance with safety and operational standards
- Handle and position equipment for testing and engineering operations
Testing & Experimentation:
- Conduct vibration and shock testing, including setup and execution
- Perform tests requiring minor modifications to procedures or configurations
- Operate standard and specialized test equipment and accurately record results
Technical Support & Troubleshooting:
- Construct components, subunits, or simple models
- Troubleshoot and resolve equipment malfunctions
- Adapt standard equipment or procedures to meet project requirements
Data Collection & Analysis:
- Collect, process, and analyze engineering and test data
- Identify inconsistencies, errors, or gaps in data and resolve them
- Prepare data presentations, reports, and documentation
Engineering Assistance:
- Support design modifications by compiling relevant technical data
- Review field notes, manuals, and lab reports to extract actionable insights
- Contribute to identifying prior failures and recommending improvements
Documentation & Compliance:
- Follow engineering diagrams, layouts, and specifications
- Ensure all work meets technical standards and contractual requirements
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- At least three (3) years of relevant experience in:
o Operating a CAT-III crane
o Rigging gear handling
o Conducting vibration and/or shock testing
Desired Qualifications:
o Linear Bi-Axial Impact Machine
o Medium Weight Shock Machine
- Experience with acceleration data collection and analysis
