The Assistant Manager at Shawnee Springs Market is responsible for managing the daily operations of the retail and convenience store. This role supports the Store Manager in achieving daily and weekly goals while ensuring a smooth, customer-focused, and productive work environment across all departments.

Job Requirements
· Assist the Store Manager in overseeing both the farm market and retail market operations.
· Manage operations of the Fruit Market and/or Retail Market, including departments such as produce, gifts, plants, candy, gift flags, Shawnee Springs products, and seasonal items.
· Oversee the full Convenience Store operation, including food service, grocery, produce, beer/wine, dairy, deli, lottery, over-the-counter medications, and non-edible goods.
· Assist in promoting and upholding policies and procedures as developed by the Store Manager and Corporate Operations.
· Assist with performing administrative duties such as employee accident reports, money drawer and safe reconciliation, deposits, and daily inventory worksheets.
· Assist with or independently manage ordering and maintaining inventory levels for all product departments.
· Communicate goals and expectations to staff daily.
· Assist with regularly walking the store, identify necessary tasks, delegate responsibilities, and follow up to ensure completion.
· Assist with scheduling staff breaks in alignment with store flow and business needs.
· Organize and oversee store opening and closing duties.
· Support customer service by assisting staff at the Register, Deli, and Bake stations.
· Assist in ensuring deli and bake production standards are met based on company guidelines.
· Maintain cleanliness and organization of the sales floor.
· Ensure grocery shelves, beverage coolers, and all product displays are fully stocked, clean, and presentable.
· Restock the bake table and self-serve deli case throughout the day using FIFO (first-in, first-out) practices.
· Ensure the daily cleaning checklist is completed and verified before staff leave.
· Maintain kitchen cleanliness throughout the day, including proper use and replacement of cooking tools, sanitation of surfaces, and cleanliness of floors.
· Maintain the interior and exterior appearance of the store, including general building and grounds upkeep.
· Perform employee-related functions such as training, support, and supervision as needed.
· Participate in daily operations, including baking, sandwich preparation, register operation, and staff supervision.
· Monitor and maintain par levels; provide direction to staff to meet inventory goals.
· Promote a positive corporate culture and management philosophy in all public and personnel interactions.
· Foster and maintain strong working relationships with Shawnee Springs team members and vendors.
· Cross-train staff in all departments according to company standards.
· Remain available on-call for emergencies or operational needs.
· Perform any other duties as assigned by the Store Manager or Corporate Operations.

· Effective interpersonal and communication skills to foster teamwork, coach staff, and deliver excellent customer service.
· Proficiency in administrative and operational tasks such as scheduling, inventory control, and staff training.
· Ability to maintain accuracy, attention to detail, and accountability in a fast-paced retail environment.
· Knowledge of retail operations, food safety standards, and compliance practices.
Additional Qualifications
· High School diploma or GED
· Minimum of two years of supervisory and organizational experience preferred, ideally in a retail or convenience store environment.
· Capability to lift or move 50+ lbs. unassisted.
· Ability to stand and work on feet for extended periods of time.
