Registered Nurse - Emergency Department
Job Summary
Provides rapid assessment, triage, and nursing care to patients presenting with a wide range of acute illnesses and injuries in the emergency department. Prioritizes care based on acuity and collaborates with the emergency team to stabilize and treat patients efficiently.
Education & Experience
- Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (Required)
- Minimum 1-2 years of emergency or critical care nursing experience (Preferred)
Licenses & Certifications
- Current RN license in state of practice (Required)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (Required)
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification (Required)
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification (Required)
- Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) certification (Preferred)
- Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN) certification (Preferred)
Key Responsibilities
- Performs rapid triage and assessment of patients presenting to the emergency department.
- Administers medications, IV fluids, and treatments based on physician orders and protocols.
- Responds to trauma activations, codes, and other emergent situations.
- Monitors patients for changes in condition and escalates care as needed.
- Coordinates patient flow, admissions, transfers, and discharges in a fast-paced environment.
- Provides patient and family education and emotional support during acute events.
