As a Fleet Diagnostic Technician at Zūm CMX, you’ll be the expert who turns complex symptoms into clear solutions, ensuring every vehicle in our fleet is ready to serve students and neighborhoods.

Start with a targeted diagnostic plan: interpret driver notes, pull codes, and trace issues across mechanical and electrical systems.

Execute precision repairs on systems such as steering, electrical, cooling, lubricating, braking, drivetrains, suspensions, clutches, transmissions, and oil/temperature/gas regulating components.

Adjust, test, and rebuild engines within your qualifications, adhering to all applicable Federal, State/Provincial, and local requirements.

Run test drives during Preventive Maintenance to validate driver-reported concerns, and again post-service to confirm a first-time fix.

Install, program, replace, and verify telematics devices to keep our fleet connected and visible.

Own scheduled Preventive Maintenance and jump on unscheduled repairs with equal focus and urgency.

Respond to road calls and perform on-the-road fixes when needed.

Document time, parts, and work performed in our digital systems with complete accuracy.

Keep a spotless, efficient bay—meeting company housekeeping practices and all Federal, State/Provincial, and local safety requirements.

Complete work in alignment with DOT compliance standards.

Cover your assigned shift and step into overtime when operations call for it.
You’re a methodical problem-solver who thrives in a fast-paced shop. You balance speed with precision, follow issues to their root cause, and take pride in organization—tools in place, documentation complete, and quality that speaks for itself. Whether you’re rebuilding an engine, troubleshooting intricate electrical faults, or conducting PMIs, you deliver professional results.

5 years of fleet experience with Diesel and Heavy/Medium-duty vehicles.

At least 5 years of Auto/Truck or Bus mechanical repair experience.

Hands-on familiarity with local DOT compliance for Medium/Heavy Trucks.

Computer literacy for fleet management platforms and documentation.

Own the recommended minimum hand tools for Medium/Heavy-Duty and Diesel work.

Proven strength with computerized diagnostics.

Sound judgment and decisive troubleshooting.

Background in planning/scheduling repairs (Daily, Weekly, Monthly).

Willingness to work flexible schedules.

Valid CDL (or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire).

ASE certifications in brakes, suspension, engine, electrical, A/C—or Master School Bus and/or Master Truck Technician.
