POSITION SUMMARY: To provide clinical oversight of skilled nursing operations in your assigned Market. As a MDS Resource, the primary purpose of your job position is to provide leadership, oversight and to act as a resource to the Facilities’ MDS Nurses and Interdisciplinary Team specific to the RAI process and Reimbursement Programs.

- Adheres to and assures compliance with Code of Conduct, Company policies and procedures and all applicable rules, regulations and standards as promulgated by Federal, State, and accrediting agencies or regulating bodies i.e. Department of Health, Centers of Medicare and Medicaid Services.
- Provides education, leadership and oversight to facility staff specific to the RAI and Reimbursement Programs i.e. Medicare, Managed Care, Medicaid, Quality and Accountability Supplemental Payment (QASP) Program.
- Provides education and monitoring of facility utilization management systems and processes that support accurate claims and billing.
- Provides education to facility staff on Medicare Compliance and Reimbursement
- Assists facilities to determine Medicare skilled services to meet regulatory requirements for reimbursement.
- Provides orientation to new hire MDS Nurses.
- Provides training to alternate back up MDS Nurses.
- Reviews, trains, strategizes and collaborates with Facilities’ staff and Co-Resources to improve Quality Measures.
- Reviews and Maximize PDPM Case Mix Indexes and correct any opportunities missed through training the IDT in improving their methodology using in-depth research, clinical skills and resources available.
- Reviews Quality and Accountability Supplemental Payment (QASP) Program data for each operation and provide training to the IDT to become experts in improving their performance
- Conducts periodic review of facility systems specific to the RAI, Medicare and Medicaid as applicable which will include review of management and documentations.
- Attends Facilities’ Daily Technical Meetings, Weekly Medicare Meetings and Triple Check to review for accuracy and maximization of documentation and Case Mix Index.
- Reviews and participates in the refinement and implementation of clinical systems ensuring quality measures by identifying and participating in training development. Delivers clinical hands-on trainings to clinical staff through direct patent care demonstrations and documentation.
- Review charts for clinical quality and accuracy of documentation, with direct involvement and corrective or improvement actions in record as indicated, and recommendations for educational opportunities.
- Reviewing MDS assessments and care planning, with direct involvement and corrective or improvement actions in record as indicated, based on clinical assessment of resident and supporting medical information in resident record.
- Assisting with IV administration and med pass as needed.
- Participating in resident assessment and documentation, with direct involvement and corrective or improvement actions in record as indicated, based on clinical assessment of resident and supporting medical information in resident record
- Provides staff training and in-services on topics including PCC and competencies.
- Assisting DON with managing and nursing facility nursing services.
· Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing or related field preferred.
· Minimum of five (5) years experience in long term care or health care management required with proven track record of financial, clinical and cultural success.
· Experience in directing clinical operations.
· Registered Nurse or Licensed Vocational/ Practical Nurse with a current license in the state of practice.
· Must provide evidence of being free of tuberculosis infection upon hire and as set forth by the policies of the facility.
· Must be able to read, write, speak and understand the English language.
· Must possess the ability to make independent decision when circumstances warrant such action.
· Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel, and the general public.
· Must be knowledgeable of nursing and medical practices and procedures, as well as laws, regulations, and guidelines that pertain to long-term care.
· Must possess leadership and supervisory ability and the willingness to work harmoniously with and supervise other personnel.
· Must have patience, tact, a cheerful disposition and enthusiasm, as well as the willingness to handle difficult residents.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Moves intermittently during working hours and is subject to frequent interruptions.
- Interacts with residents, personnel, visitors, government agencies/personnel, etc., under all conditions and circumstances.
- Is subject to hostile and emotionally upset residents, family members, personnel, and visitors.
- Communicates with the medical staff, activities personnel, and other department supervisors.
- Works beyond normal working hours and on weekends and holidays when necessary. May be on call 24 hours per day, 7 days per week.
- Is subject to call-back during emergency conditions (e.g., severe weather, evacuation, post-disaster, etc.).
- Is subject to injury from falls, burns from equipment, odors, etc., as well as to reactions from dust, disinfectants, tobacco smoke, and other air contaminants.
- Is subject to exposure to infectious waste, diseases, conditions, etc., including TB and the AIDS and Hepatitis B viruses.
- May be subject to the handling of and exposure to hazardous chemicals.
PHYSICAL AND SENSORY REQUIREMENTS (with or without the aid of mechanical devices):
· Must be able to cope with the mental emotional and stress of the position.
- Must possess sight/hearing senses or use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function adequately so that the requirements of this position can be fully met.
- Must function independently, have flexibility, personal integrity, and the ability to work effectively.
- Must meet the general health requirements set forth by the policies of this facility which may include a medical and physical examination.
- Must be able to relate to and work with ill, disabled, elderly, emotionally upset, and, at times, hostile people within the facility.
· May be necessary to assist in the evacuation of residents during emergency situations.

Pay: $86,000.00 - $91,000.00 per year
