Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and inspect commercial HVAC systems and equipment.
- Service split systems, large split systems, built-up systems, water source heat pumps, rooftop units, and other commercial HVAC equipment.
- Diagnose and resolve airflow, air distribution, building pressure, and VAV system issues.
- Maintain and troubleshoot variable frequency drives (VFDs) in various applications.
- Read and interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical documentation.
- Trace and troubleshoot complex electrical and control systems.
- Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair specialized equipment, including Liebert, AAON, and similar commercial HVAC systems.
- Perform preventive maintenance and identify opportunities to improve equipment reliability and system performance.
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment while consistently following company safety policies and utilizing proper PPE.
- Maintain an organized, clean, and professional company vehicle.
- Manage assigned service projects, including coordinating labor, materials, subcontractors, and scheduling requirements.
- Communicate daily schedules, project updates, and service needs with Service Coordinators, Account Managers, and Supervisors.
- Complete accurate service reports, inspection documentation, work orders, and timekeeping records.
- Collaborate with Service Coordinators, Service Supervisors, and other team members to proactively solve customer issues.
- Clearly communicate diagnostics, repair recommendations, and resolutions to customers and internal stakeholders.
- Demonstrate professionalism, craftsmanship, accountability, and pride in your work.
- Perform all duties in accordance with company policies, industry standards, and customer requirements.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- 2 to 5 years of commercial HVAC service experience.
- Associate degree in HVAC, Mechanical Systems, or related field preferred; equivalent experience and training will be considered.
- Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
- EPA Universal Certification.
- Current Texas Air Conditioning and Refrigeration (ACR) Registration.
- Current Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR) Registration.
- Ability to provide and maintain basic hand tools, including gauges, meters, screwdrivers, wrenches, and pliers.
- Working knowledge of commercial HVAC equipment, controls, refrigeration systems, and electrical troubleshooting.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience servicing mission-critical environments, including data centers, healthcare facilities, and industrial operations.
- Experience with Liebert, AAON, Trane, Carrier, Daikin, York, or similar commercial HVAC equipment.
- Building automation controls experience.
- Advanced electrical troubleshooting experience.
- Additional manufacturer certifications and technical training.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds regularly and heavier loads with assistance.
- Ability to work from ladders, rooftops, mechanical rooms, and elevated work areas.
- Ability to bend, kneel, crouch, climb, crawl, and stand for extended periods.
- Ability to work in varying indoor and outdoor environmental conditions, including heat, cold, and inclement weather.
- Ability to safely operate company vehicles and equipment.
