Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Locum Nurse Practitioner/ Physician Assistant - Urgent Care for our client in North Carolina!
Responsibilities
- Deliver comprehensive outpatient urgent care services, evaluating and treating patients across acute care, minor injury, and illness presentations while managing an average of 45 patients per shift.
- Perform essential in-office procedures including laceration repairs, ear irrigations, and other routine urgent care interventions.
- Function confidently as the sole provider in the clinic while collaborating with the Center Manager, Medical Assistant, Patient Service Associate, and an offsite supervising physician.
- Provide high-quality, patient-centered care within a stroke-certified facility while utilizing Epic EMR for efficient clinical documentation.
Qualifications
- Board Certified Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant with urgent care or comparable acute care experience.
- Active North Carolina state license or active IMLC eligibility required (facility is not willing to obtain licensure).
- Current ACLS, BLS, DEA Controlled Substance Registration Certificate, and PALS required (DOT certification and PALS/ACLS preferred).
- Demonstrated proficiency in minor urgent care procedures with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Schedule
- Coverage Needed: Full-time ASAP ongoing coverage in an outpatient urgent care setting.
- Shift Structure: Scheduled Clinical Hours with no call responsibilities
- Call Requirements: No call required.
- Credentialing Time Frame: Approximately 30 days (Temporary privileges are not available)
Skills
- Strong clinical expertise in evaluating and managing a broad spectrum of urgent care conditions and performing common office-based procedures.
- Ability to work independently as the sole provider while maintaining efficient patient flow in a high-volume clinical environment.
- Proficiency with Epic EMR and excellent organizational skills to manage a busy outpatient practice.
- Outstanding communication, teamwork, and patient service skills while collaborating with onsite support staff and an offsite supervising physician.
All travel expenses are reimbursed by our client and Orchard covers malpractice insurance with tail coverage!
