Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented CNC Bridge Saw Operator specializing in 5-axis machining for stone fabrication. In this role, you will operate advanced CNC (Computer Numerical Control) bridge saws to precisely cut and shape natural and engineered stone materials. Your expertise will ensure that each piece meets exact specifications, contributing to the creation of high-quality countertops, flooring, and custom stonework. Responsibilities
- Operate 5-axis CNC bridge saws to cut, shape, and fabricate stone materials according to detailed blueprints and specifications.
- Set up and calibrate machinery, ensuring proper tooling, safety features, and machine parameters are in place before production begins.
- Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and measurements to execute accurate cuts and dimensions.
- Use hand tools and power tools for material handling, finishing, polishing, and assembly of stone components.
- Maintain strict adherence to safety standards by wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), including respiratory protection when necessary.
- Perform routine maintenance on CNC equipment and troubleshoot issues promptly to minimize downtime.
- Handle heavy materials safely using forklift or other lifting equipment, following all safety regulations for materials handling.
- Conduct dimensional measurements using tape measures, calipers, or other precision tools to verify accuracy of finished products.
- Follow safety protocols during fabrication processes to ensure a safe working environment for all team members.
- Assist with stone finishing tasks such as polishing and surface treatments to achieve desired aesthetic qualities.
Requirements
- Proven experience operating CNC machinery, particularly 5-axis bridge saws or similar equipment in a stone fabrication or manufacturing setting.
- Mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot machine issues quickly and effectively.
- Familiarity with fabrication processes including cutting, polishing, machining, and assembly of stone materials.
- Strong understanding of blueprint reading, dimensional measurements, and following precise specifications.
- Ability to use hand tools, power tools, tape measures, calipers, and other measuring devices accurately.
- Knowledge of safety standards in production environments; committed to PPE use and safety protocol adherence at all times.
- Experience with forklift operation or other heavy lifting equipment is preferred but not mandatory.
- Basic math skills necessary for accurate measurements and calculations during fabrication tasks.
- Construction or manufacturing experience with a focus on materials handling and millwork is advantageous.
