Wellness Desk Attendant

Reports to: Wellness Director / Wellness Supervisor
Compensation: $18 per hour, plus 40% of personal training sessions conducted
Schedule: Tuesday–Friday, 11:00 a.m.–7:00 p.m. | Saturday, 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m.
Belle Meade Country Club is looking for an energetic, welcoming, and service-driven Wellness Desk Attendant to serve as the friendly face of our Wellness Center. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys helping others, stays attentive to their surroundings, and takes pride in creating a clean, organized, and inviting environment.
The Wellness Desk will remain the primary focus of this position. In addition to supporting daily Wellness Center operations, this role will have the opportunity to conduct personal training sessions and oversee the Club’s youth fitness certification program. The ideal candidate has a foundation in fitness and personal training and at least 1-2 years of experience.

What You’ll Do
Wellness Desk and Member Service
- Warmly greet members and guests and assist with check-in.
- Answer telephone calls and respond to questions in a friendly, professional manner.
- Assist members with general Wellness Center information, programs, and services.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming front desk and fitness environment.
- Regularly clean and sanitize fitness equipment and shared Wellness Center spaces.
- Monitor the fitness floor and help promote a safe, respectful workout environment.
- Provide basic guidance on the proper use of fitness equipment when needed.
- Restock towels, supplies, and other Wellness Center essentials.
- Report damaged equipment, maintenance concerns, safety issues, or member needs promptly.
- Assist with light administrative tasks and other Wellness Center duties as assigned.
- Work collaboratively with the Wellness team to provide consistent, attentive member service.
Personal Training and Youth Fitness
- Conduct personal training sessions as scheduled while ensuring appropriate coverage of primary Wellness Desk responsibilities.
- Develop safe and effective workouts based on each member’s goals, abilities, and fitness level.
- Build positive, professional relationships with personal training clients.
- Communicate with clients regarding appointments, schedules, goals, and expectations.
- Schedule, confirm, and accurately document personal training sessions.
- Lead the Club’s youth fitness certification program by teaching young members proper equipment use, fitness-floor expectations, and basic exercise safety.
- Maintain accurate records of completed youth fitness certifications.
- Identify opportunities to introduce members to personal training services in a helpful and professional manner.
- Communicate with Wellness management regarding scheduling needs, client concerns, or safety matters.
- Follow all Club policies and established safety practices during training sessions and youth certifications.
What We’re Looking For
- A warm, outgoing personality and a genuine desire to help others.
- At least one to two years of personal training, fitness coaching, or related experience.
- Current nationally recognized personal training certification.
- Current CPR, First Aid, and AED certification, or the ability to obtain the required certifications.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Confidence working with adults and youth of varying fitness levels.
- Ability to explain exercises and equipment use clearly, patiently, and safely.
- Dependable, punctual, and committed to maintaining a consistent schedule.
- Professional appearance and demeanor.
- Ability to remain attentive, organized, and productive during both busy and quiet periods.
- Comfort working independently while remaining part of a supportive team.
- Ability to balance scheduled training sessions with the position’s primary Wellness Desk responsibilities.
- Ability to lift up to 45 pounds and remain active throughout the shift.
- Comfort working in the cooler temperatures commonly maintained in fitness facilities.
- A degree or coursework in Exercise Science, Kinesiology, Human Performance, or a related field is preferred but not required.
