Job Summary
Yankee Clipper Inn is a 3-building Bed and Breakfast, located right on the ocean in Rockport, MA. We have a seasonal bar, open to the public from June to October, called The Captain's Compass. We are looking for an enthusiastic and dependable Server that wants to be part of a team that strives for quality. The ideal candidate will have a passion and commitment to providing exceptional customer service and will be responsible for serving food and alcoholic beverages to guests, both inside and outside on the lawn. Your ability to engage with customers and create memorable experiences will be key to your success in this role.
This is a seasonal part-time weekend position, Friday-Sunday. Shifts are: Fri 3p-9p, Sat 1p-9p, Sun 1p-9p. Benefits include a generous hourly salary, along with tips and shift meals.
Duties
- Serve food and alcoholic beverages, according to standard recipes and customer preferences.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the service and kitchen area, including glassware, utensils, and equipment.
- Engage with customers to provide excellent service, take orders, and offer recommendations.
- Handle transactions accurately, including processing payments and managing tabs using the Square POS system
- Ensure compliance with food safety and alcohol regulations, including proper food handling techniques
Requirements
- MUST be able to lift up to 50lbs, climb stairs, and work outdoors
- Previous server experience preferred
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to interact positively with guests
- Knowledge of spirits, wine, and beer
- Understanding of food safety practices and food handling regulations
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
