Job Overview
IB International is seeking a dependable, safety-focused Welder to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will have experience with MIG welding, blueprint reading, and metal fabrication while maintaining high standards of quality and productivity. This position requires strong attention to detail, a commitment to workplace safety, and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
Job Function:
- Knowledge of welding process and equipment
- Working knowledge of wire and filler materials applications for various steel alloys, aluminum, and some exotic metals
- Ability to weld vertical, flat, and overhead welds with good penetration and quality appearance
- Possess proficiency in assigned welding techniques, using specified IBI standards and practices in accordance with the IBI Weld Manual.
- Lay-out, align, position, and fit components together according to the print provided for the assigned job.
- Perform quality inspections of products as produced per documentation.
- Perform Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) on completed weldments as training and certification allow.
- Demonstrate the ability to read and interpret blueprint drawings, bills of materials, routing, and customer specifications, including weld requirement symbology.
- Ability to stand, bend, kneel, and lift up to 50 pounds throughout the workday.
Requirements: per IBI Standards and Guidelines
- Have a basic understanding of fans and blowers, including types, arrangements, components, and construction.
- Communicate effectively with co-workers, supervisors, and management to receive instruction and coordinate efforts.
- Ability to arrive at work on time
- Ability to work additional hours as required
- Must have flexibility for changes in schedule as required
- Perform duties as assigned by supervisor or manager.
- Take part in continuous improvement efforts.
- Lastly, understand that other assigned reasonable responsibilities may be asked of you.
Experience and Education:
Education: Minimum High School diploma or GED.
Licenses and Certifications: AWS Certification preferred.
Experience:
- 3 or more years MIG welding carbon steel
- 1 or more years TIG welding carbon steel. Stainless steel preferred
- Ability to use oxy-acetylene torches
- Ability to use plasma cutter
- Prior experience operating forklifts
Physical Requirements:
- Exert up to 30 pounds force regularly.
- Exert 25 – 50 pounds force frequently.
- Exert 50 – 110 pounds force occasionally with assistance.
- Ability to work in awkward positions such as kneeling, lying down, or overhead.
- Ability to climb and work safely from ladders or at an elevated height.
- Stand, walk, and bend to the floor.
- Good Visual Ability: Close, distance, color, peripheral, and depth perception. (prescription glasses if required)
Pay: From $23.00 per hour
