Top Performer Earnings: $200,000+ possible
About the Role
Grey Barn is hiring commercial landscaping salespeople to help us grow our maintenance, enhancement, and install business across Northwest Arkansas.
Who We Sell To
Our ideal customers include:
- Property managers
- Facility managers
- Commercial property owners
- Multifamily communities
- HOAs and POAs
- Retail centers
- Office properties
- Industrial properties
- Schools, churches, and institutions
- General contractors and commercial project decision-makers
Compensation
This role includes a strong base salary plus uncapped commission.
Base Salary range of $52,000-$72,000/year plus commission, based on proven experience and production history.
Commission is based on gross profit, not just revenue. That means bigger, more profitable work pays more.
You can earn commission on:
- New commercial maintenance contracts
- Maintenance renewals
- Enhancement and install projects
- Cross-sell opportunities between maintenance and enhancement/install teams
Commission is paid after the customer pays and the work meets margin standards. This keeps the company healthy and makes sure everyone wins from real, profitable work.
Earnings Potential
This is built for someone who wants real upside.
Strong performers should have a realistic path to $100,000-$175,000+ in total annual compensation.
Top performers who consistently sell profitable commercial work can earn $200,000+.
What You Will Do
- Prospect and build relationships with commercial property decision-makers
- Walk commercial properties and identify maintenance or project opportunities
- Build scopes, estimates, and proposals
- Sell recurring maintenance contracts and/or enhancement/install work
- Protect gross profit by selling properly scoped work
- Follow up consistently until the customer makes a decision
- Collect deposits when required for project work
- Keep the CRM accurate and current
- Coordinate clean handoffs to operations
- Help identify cross-sell opportunities between maintenance and enhancement/install work
What We Are Looking For
You need at least one of these two: direct green-industry experience (landscaping, grounds maintenance, landscape design, horticulture, nursery, irrigation, hardscape), or a track record selling commercial services to property managers, facility managers, HOAs, multifamily operators, or commercial property owners.
Also considered: strong B2B sales from an adjacent trade or commercial service — facility services, pest control, janitorial, HVAC, roofing, construction — where you sold to the same kind of decision maker.
Strong candidates come from commercial landscaping or commercial services:
- Commercial landscaping and grounds maintenance
- Landscape design or install
- Horticulture, nursery, or irrigation sales
- Commercial facility services sold to properties — janitorial, pest control, or building services
If you have sold a commercial service to property managers, facility managers, HOA boards, or commercial property owners, that experience transfers here. Selling to homeowners does not.
Requirements
- Proven sales ability and/or direct landscaping industry knowledge
- Ability to sell to commercial decision-makers
- Comfortable prospecting and building your own pipeline
- Comfortable walking properties and discussing scope, pricing, and customer needs
- Strong follow-up and communication skills
- CRM discipline
- Reliable transportation to travel throughout Northwest Arkansas
- Comfortable with a base-plus-commission compensation structure
You will thrive here if you:
- Like hunting for new business
- Understand that margin matters
- Can build trust with commercial customers
- Follow up without needing to be chased
- Want high income potential
- Want to help build a serious commercial landscaping company
- Take accountability for your results
This is probably not the role for you if you:
- Need leads handed to you every day
- Avoid prospecting
- Do not want to be in the field
- Struggle with follow-up
- Ignore CRM
- Sell work without caring if it is profitable
- Want a low-accountability corporate sales job

Application Question(s):
- This is a full-time, in-person, field-based role covering Northwest Arkansas.
Where do you live right now? If you are not in Northwest Arkansas, what date
would you relocate by? Do you have a valid driver's license and reliable
transportation to drive the area every day?
- This role pays a base of $52,000 to $72,000 per year depending on proven
experience and production history, plus uncapped commission based on gross
profit, paid after the customer pays and the work meets margin standards.
Target earnings are $100,000 to $175,000+. Does that structure work for you?
- Which of these describes you? (a) You have sold commercial services to
property managers, facility managers, HOAs, multifamily operators, commercial
property owners, or general contractors. (b) You have direct landscaping,
grounds maintenance, landscape design, horticulture, nursery, irrigation, or
hardscape experience. (c) You have B2B sales experience in an adjacent trade
or commercial service. Answer with the letter or letters, plus the company
and how long.
- In your best year, how much did you personally sell in total revenue, not
commission? Tell us what you were selling and who you were selling it to. If
you have never carried a sales number, write "no sales number" and tell us
what you did instead.
- Have you walked commercial properties and built scopes, estimates, or
proposals from those walks? If yes, what kind of work were you scoping and
pricing, and did you set the price yourself or did someone else?
- How do you find new business? Walk us through your last full week of
prospecting: what you did each day, roughly how many new contacts you
approached, and where those names came from.
- Tell us about one commercial deal you personally found and closed. How you
found it, who the decision maker was, how long it took, what it was worth,
and what the gross profit or margin was.
- Please share your LinkedIn profile.
