We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Private Caregiver to provide exceptional in-home and community-based support to individuals with diverse needs. Duties
- Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and personal hygiene
- Monitor patient health by observing vital signs, assessing symptoms, and reporting changes promptly
- Prepare nutritious meals aligned with dietary needs and assist with meal consumption as needed
- Maintain a clean, safe environment by performing light housekeeping tasks including cleaning, laundry, and organizing personal spaces
- Provide companionship and emotional support to reduce feelings of loneliness or anxiety
- Follow established care plans for residents with dementia, Alzheimer’s, autism, or other neurodevelopmental disabilities including memory care strategies
- Support hospice or palliative care needs by providing compassionate assistance respecting patient wishes and comfort
Experience
- Prior experience working in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home health environments is highly preferred
- Demonstrated knowledge of patient observation techniques, medication administration, and vital signs monitoring
- Hands-on experience with patient transfer methods such as Hoyer lifts and manual handling procedures
- Familiarity with dementia care, Alzheimer’s care, memory support strategies, and behavioral management techniques
- Experience working with individuals with autism or developmental disabilities including intellectual disabilities support
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations ensuring confidentiality of patient information at all times
- Proven ability to assist with ADLs effectively while maintaining dignity and respect for clients’ independence
- Certifications in CPR and first aid are required; additional training in hospice care or geriatrics is advantageous
- Strong communication skills for client interaction and collaboration with healthcare teams
- Ability to handle heavy lifting safely when necessary and perform manual tasks confidently in various settings
