As a Security Officer, you will play a vital role in maintaining a safe and secure environment across various facilities. Your responsibilities will include monitoring premises through surveillance systems, performing security checks, managing access points, and responding swiftly to incidents. Your proactive approach and attention to detail will help prevent loss, manage conflicts, and ensure compliance with safety protocols. Responsibilities
- Monitor surveillance systems such as CCTV cameras and conduct regular visual inspections of the premises
- Control access by performing background checks on visitors, contractors, and employees
- Respond promptly to security incidents, including conflicts or emergencies, utilizing conflict management skills
- Perform manual handling tasks including heavy lifting when necessary for equipment or supplies
- Operate security equipment such as Taser, AED (Automated External Defibrillator), and CPR devices in emergency situations
- Conduct thorough security patrols, including loss prevention measures and perimeter checks
- Maintain detailed incident reports, shift logs, and asset protection records to ensure accurate documentation
Skills
- Strong surveillance skills with experience operating CCTV systems and conducting visual inspections
- Background in law enforcement or military service is highly desirable for understanding security protocols
- Certified in first aid, CPR, AED operation, and Taser use for emergency response preparedness
- Ability to perform manual handling tasks safely and efficiently, including heavy lifting when required
- Knowledge of security procedures including performing background checks and loss prevention techniques
- Excellent conflict management skills with the ability to de-escalate tense situations calmly
- Familiarity with CCTV monitoring software and security technology tools
