SUMMARY:
The Food Service Assistant provides support in areas such as production, safety, sanitation, customer service, catered events and other aspects as needed.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Prepare and serve daily meals in accordance with the menu. This also includes preparing and the set up/break down of on-site events.
- Provide exceptional & timely customer service to all individuals that enter the food service area.
- Develop constructive and cooperative working relationships among staff, residents and community volunteers.
Quality food production within the HACCP program to maintain food safety. Establish a safe & sanitary work environment.

QUALIFICATIONS:

At least 6 months of cooking experience preferred.

1+ year experience working with large groups of people.

Experience with non-profit organizations recommended.
- G.E.D or High School Diploma or equivalent experience.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

U.S labor and health laws, mass quantity cooking

Cooking, Baking.

Ability to adapt to changing priorities, with a sense of urgency

Excellent customer service skills.

Bilingual in English and Spanish and/or English and Creole preferred.
