The Opportunity
Do you take pride in clean gas pipe runs, properly supported lines, tight fittings, and installations that pass inspection the first time?
Are you highly experienced in natural gas and propane line installations — from mountain properties to suburban homes?
Spectrum Electric specializes in residential backup generator installations throughout Colorado’s Front Range. In mountain communities where outages are common, our work truly matters.
We are hiring a Generator Installation Pipefitter whose primary responsibility is to initiate and guide generator installations , setting the team up for success and accelerating our installation rate — without failed inspections, gas leaks, or return trips. This is a craftsmanship-driven, field decision-making role – the early decisions you make will shine through to the final product.
Why You’ll Love Working With Us
· Local Roots, High Standards: Join a family-owned team that is respected across Colorado. We treat our team like family and our customers like neighbors.
· True Expertise in a Niche Market: Nobody has installed more residential standby Generators in Colorado than Spectrum Electric – and we intend to keep it that way with your help.
· Training & Development: You’ll become a true product expert through Generac factory training opportunities, quarterly cross-training days, and ride-alongs with field service technicians & electricians.
· Autonomy and Independence: You drive a fully stocked Service Van and manage your day with an iPad and specialized tools. You have the independence to scope jobs and execute them your way, but you don’t take shortcuts - ever.
Your Calling
Reporting to the Install Ops Manager, you are the first technician on-site - you are the face of the company in the customer’s home and lay the foundation for a successful installation.
· Diagnose and Advise: You have the final say on generator location and installation setup and can walk homeowners through your decisions confidently.
· Execute to Standard: Install underground and above-ground gas piping and tie into existing natural gas or propane systems. Determine the best routing for new gas lines based on terrain, structure, and code for a clean, professional finish – we pass inspections on the first attempt.
· Cross-Trade Vision: You see the overall picture, and set up the electricians, mechanics, and generator installers for success.
· Leave a Lasting Impression: Your customers will often say “I wish I could hire you for all of my gas work”.
