About Tulsi
Tulsi is an upscale Indian restaurant and event space opening in Elgin, Illinois. The concept blends authentic Indian flavors with a modern dining experience. The restaurant will feature a full-service dining room, bar, and a large event venue for private parties, weddings, and corporate events.
We are building a passionate and professional kitchen team to help establish Tulsi as a standout dining destination in the Chicago suburbs.
Position Overview
We are seeking experienced and dedicated chefs specializing in South Indian cuisine, Tandoor cooking, and Indian appetizers/starters. Ideal candidates should have strong culinary skills, the ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen, and a passion for quality and consistency.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and execute high-quality Indian dishes with consistency
- Maintain food presentation and flavor standards
- Assist in daily kitchen operations and prep
- Work efficiently during high-volume restaurant and event service
- Maintain cleanliness, organization, and food safety standards
- Collaborate with the kitchen team to ensure smooth service
- Support menu execution and kitchen workflow
Qualifications
- Must be specialized in Indian cuisine
- Prior experience in Indian restaurant kitchens preferred
- Specialization in South Indian, Tandoor, or Indian appetizer cuisine
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices
- Passion for hospitality and culinary excellence

Salary will depend on skill level, experience, specialization, event catering experience, and ability to handle high-volume kitchen operations.
