Forklift Operator
Shift: 2nd Shift 3:00pm - 11:30pm
Position Summary:
The Forklift Operator is responsible for safely operating forklifts to move raw materials and finished goods throughout the facility. This role supports production and shipping by ensuring materials are delivered efficiently and accurately in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate sit-down, stand-up, or clamp forklifts to transport materials and products
- Load and unload trucks, trailers, and production lines
- Move raw materials to production workstations and finished goods to storage or shipping areas
- Stack, stage, and organize pallets in designated locations
- Inspect incoming and outgoing shipments for damage or discrepancies
- Maintain accurate inventory and assist with cycle counts
- Supply production lines with necessary materials to avoid downtime
- Follow all OSHA and company safety procedures, including PPE requirements
- Keep work areas clean and organized (5S standards)
Qualifications
- Previous forklift experience required (clamp experience often preferred)
- Ability to operate in a fast-paced manufacturing or warehouse environment
- Experience with shipping/receiving or production support is a plus
- Basic math and computer/RF scanner skills preferred
- Ability to lift 50 lbs+ and work on feet for extended periods
- Strong attention to safety and detail
Work Environment
- Manufacturing setting (plastic container production)
- Fast-paced with constant movement and material handling
- May involve heat, noise, and working around machinery
- Team-oriented environment with cross-functional responsibilities
