Duties
- Administer prescribed medications accurately following state healthcare regulations and facility protocols
- Monitor residents’ vital signs and overall health status throughout the night shift
- Assist with personal care tasks such as bathing, grooming, dressing, and mobility support
- Maintain detailed medical documentation using electronic health record (EHR) systems like Epic or Cerner to ensure compliance and continuity of care
- Observe and report any changes in residents’ condition, including symptoms of dementia or other health concerns
- Support residents with activities of daily living while respecting their privacy and preferences
- Follow infection control procedures, including proper manual handling techniques and catheter care when necessary
Skills
- Proven experience working in assisted living, nursing homes, hospitals, or home care environments with geriatric or disabled populations
- Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and senior care best practices
- Certified in medication administration, CPR, first aid, and basic life support (BLS)
- Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems such as Epic or Cerner; experience with EHR systems is a plus
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and manage manual handling tasks efficiently
- Strong caregiver communication skills to coordinate effectively with team members and residents’ families
- Understanding of HIPAA regulations and maintaining strict confidentiality of patient records
