Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree is required.
- Knowledge of the sport of collegiate basketball, as demonstrated by collegiate basketball playing experience and/or past coaching experience is required.
- Two years of experience in intercollegiate athletics and an additional two years with an intercollegiate basketball program.
- One or more years of related administrative and program experience.
- Highly proficient in the use of internet and computer software applications (MS Office or equivalent).
- Experience in dealing with large volume travel practices and policies.
- Familiar with basic NCAA rules.
- Knowledgeable with computers and troubleshooting solutions.
- Highly proficient in Adobe Creative Suite.
- Excellent organizational and analytical skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with others and work in a diverse environment.
- A valid driver’s license and driving record acceptable to the University by the University’s insurance carrier.
Desired Qualifications
Preference will be given to candidates with coaching, playing or operations experience at the Division I level. Candidates with previous experience in coaching, office management, and the ability to independently manage multiple tasks to bring projects from beginning to on-time completion are highly preferred. Preference will be given to candidates that most effectively meet the needs of the men’s basketball program.

Unless otherwise required by an applicable collective bargaining agreement, all minimum, additional and desired qualifications are preferred, but qualifications, degrees, and/or experience deemed comparable and/or equivalent by Oakland University in its sole and exclusive discretion may be considered.
Position Purpose
This position is a coaching/administrative position that works with the head coach on a daily basis and oversees the operations of all aspects of the men’s basketball program, including but not limited to: on-court duties, travel, meals, equipment, apparel, summer camps, purchasing, and day-to-day operations of the office; serves as the men’s basketball liaison with senior administration, athletics marketing, community service events, and on campus departments; coordinate staff recruiting; other duties as assigned by the head coach. This position will require extensive travel and irregular office hours, including weekends and holidays.
