Position Summary:
The Peer Mentor meets regularly with members of the Student Success Programs cohort programs to provide a peer perspective and make connections to campus resources. The Peer Mentor has the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.

The following are the functions essential to performing this job:
1. Meets regularly with members of cohort programs within Student Success Programs to provide a peer perspective and provide connection to campus resources.
2. Assist swith special projects as required (i.e., prepare materials for distribution, create spreadsheets, event set-up, etc.).
3. Provides coverage for the front desk, including answering phones, transferring calls, taking messages, and sending emails on behalf of the Office.
4. Provides a professional, helpful, welcoming atmosphere for faculty, staff, students, families, callers, and visitors of the Office of Student Success Programs.
5. Assists students/visitors by providing general information.
6. Assisst with communications for new students and their families via email, phone, and other modes.
7. Conducts outreach to prospective cohort program members.
8. Performs other duties as assigned.
