American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an ER Holding position requiring OH or compact license, prior ER experience, and night shift availability.

Work in the ER Holding unit of a teaching hospital environment
-
Care for a diverse patient population including pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics
-
Maintains a 1:4 patient-to-nurse staffing ratio
-
13-week assignment on night shift (3x12 hours, 7:00 PM-7:30 AM)

Epic charting system preferred
-
Active OH or compact RN license required in hand at time of submission
-
Minimum 2 years of RN experience required, including ER experience
-
ER observation/holding or MS/Tele experience also required; PCU/Stepdown experience acceptable
-
Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and PALS
-
Skilled in telemetry and dysrhythmia management, cardiac and vasoactive drip titration, IV insulin and heparin protocols, blood product administration, and tracheostomy care
-
Experience with non-invasive airway management (CPAP/BIPAP, oxygen) and wound care/wound vac required

Rapid response team utilization experience required

Nursing education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program

Two professional references required, with at least one from a manager/director or supervisor; second reference may be from a Charge RN; coworker references not accepted

Provide comprehensive nursing care for ER holding patients requiring cardiac, respiratory, and renal monitoring and management

Utilize rapid response and code teams as needed for patient emergencies
-
Teaching hospital, community hospital, LTAC, and Trauma Level I/II experience preferred

Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate

Former employees eligible for a travel assignment only after being away from the facility for 6 months or more

Current employees of the health system are not eligible for travel positions at this location

Requested time off (RTO) must be submitted with the contract and limited to 7 days or less

Candidates must complete Ohio fingerprinting requirements promptly upon signing contract; those outside Ohio may need to drive to a fingerprinting location or complete a mailed fingerprinting packet urgently
