Responsibilities
- Accurately process customer purchases using POS systems, handling cash, credit cards, and mobile payments with precision.
- Provide exceptional customer service by greeting shoppers warmly, answering questions, and assisting with product inquiries or demos.
- Maintain a clean and organized checkout area, restocking supplies and ensuring merchandising standards are met.
- Upsell products and promote store promotions to enhance sales opportunities while respecting customer preferences.
- Manage stock levels at the register station by assisting with stocking and merchandising displays as needed.
- Handle customer concerns or complaints professionally, ensuring a positive resolution that encourages repeat business.
- Follow proper phone etiquette when answering inquiries or directing calls related to store services or products.
Requirements
- Previous cashiering experience in a retail environment, preferably in grocery stores or similar retail outlets.
- Strong proficiency with POS systems and basic math skills for accurate cash handling and transaction processing.
- Demonstrated customer service skills with excellent communication abilities; bilingual skills are a plus.
- Supervising experience is desirable for those interested in leadership opportunities within the team.
- Ability to perform merchandising tasks such as stocking shelves and setting up product displays efficiently.
