Metal Pros is a metal fabricator specializing in overhead sign structures, railings, structural/misc. metals, and other metal products for infrastructure. We are currently looking for a Logistics Manager to drive shipping operations, schedule outbound trucks, and communicate deliveries with our customers in a proactive, hands-on leadership role.
Duties of the Job
- Oversee shipping operations: outbound truck scheduling, packing, labeling, and transport coordination; oftentimes large and irregular loads.
- Create necessary BOL for all outgoing shipments.
- Ensure shipments leave complete, accurate, and on schedule.
- Maintain clear, concise, and constant communication with our customers.
- Work closely with project managers, production manager and receiving manager to plan ahead and help solve problems.
- Control freight costs and unnecessary expedited shipments.
- Manage crew of material handlers, setting the tone for safe and efficient loading and unloading of trucks. Establish daily/weekly loading priorities.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment across the office, yard, and shop.
- Collaborate with leadership on technology improvements and process efficiency opportunities.
- Participate in business management activities including weekly production meetings, annual reviews, and Lean manufacturing initiatives.
Requirements
- Proven experience in logistics, supply chain, or operations (manufacturing preferred).
- Strong knowledge of shipping/receiving processes and production flow.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
- Occasional after-hours availability to resolve time-sensitive delivery issues.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
- Basic math skills for calculating load dimensions and weights.
- Safety-first mindset.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to operate a forklift when needed.
Highly Preferred
- College degree
- Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems.
- Familiarity with metal shapes and types.
