CDL-A Onsite Driver Trainer Instructor Home Daily in Amherst, WI
- $60,000-$69,000 annual salary based on experience
- Home Daily Driver Instructor
- Full-time schedule Monday - Friday
- Indoor and outdoor training facility, must be comfortable working in all environments.
3+ years of CDLA truck driving experience REQUIRED
Bison USA is hiring experienced CDL-A drivers to train new drivers on site. Are you an experienced CDL-A driver looking to help welcome the next generation of drivers to the trucking industry while getting home every day? Bison USA has a driver instructor program to help you make top dollar while teaching driver students.
What You’ll Do as a driver instructor at Bison:
Train new and experienced drivers on:
- Backing maneuvers
- Basic driving skills
- ELD & in-cab technology
- Company policies & safety procedures
- Conduct road tests and yard skill evaluations
- Provide coaching and corrective training when needed
- Support drivers returning from incidents or time off
- Maintain accurate training records and reports
- Promote a safe, respectful, and positive learning environment

Work Environment
- Mix of office and outdoor work at the training yard
- Must be comfortable working in all weather conditions
- Active role — standing, walking, driving, and occasional lifting required

Job Requirements:
- 3+ years of verifiable, accident-free Class A truck driving experience
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to inspire and motivate new drivers.
- Experience in driver training is preferred but not required—your passion for safety and teaching is what matters most.
Strong knowledge of:
- DOT & FMCSA regulations
- Hours of service & trip planning
- Vehicle inspections & safety practices
- Comfortable using ELDs and basic computer systems
- Completion of a two-day ICI certification class
