Responsibilities
- Develop, modify, and maintain CNC programs using Siemens NX CAM or comparable CAM software for complex machining applications, including multi-axis milling, grinding, and EDM.
- Experience programming Okuma MU10000 or similar multi-axis machining centers is highly preferred.
- Validate CNC programs using Vericut or comparable simulation software before releasing them to production.
- Utilize Renishaw probing cycles for in-process inspection, error detection, and process verification.
- Create CNC programs that comply with established machining standards and approved manufacturing parameters.
- Partner with Manufacturing Engineers to support new equipment installations, machine rebuilds, process improvements, and operator training.
- Provide ongoing CNC programming assistance and troubleshooting support to production personnel.
- Develop and support tooling, fixturing, and workholding solutions for CNC machining operations.
- Create and maintain CNC-related work instructions and standardized manufacturing methods.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, productivity, cost reduction, and on-time delivery.
- Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams to resolve manufacturing issues and improve processes.
- Thrive in both independent and collaborative team environments while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of CNC programming experience using a graphical CAM system.
- At least 3 years of experience programming and supporting Haas and Okuma CNC controls.
- Proven experience creating complex 5-axis CNC programs using Siemens NX CAM or a comparable CAM platform.
- Siemens NX CAM experience is strongly preferred.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience with advanced CNC machine control features, including macro/subroutine programming, Renishaw probing routines, variable-based programming, and Closed Loop Machining (CLM).
- Strong hands-on machining background with the ability to independently set up, prove out, and optimize first-piece programs.
- Experience maintaining tight tolerances on large-scale machined components where thermal stability, workpiece deflection, and work hardening are key considerations.
- Extensive machining experience with nickel-based superalloys such as Inconel, Rene, Hastelloy, and similar materials commonly used in aerospace or heavy industrial applications.
- Proficiency using Vericut or comparable CNC verification and machine simulation software.
- Strong knowledge of Haas and Okuma machine controls.
- Ability to accurately interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, and manufacturing specifications.
- Excellent troubleshooting, organizational, and problem-solving abilities with strong geometry and trigonometry skills.
- Capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining quality and meeting production deadlines.
