Build Things. Solve Problems. Leave It Better Than You Found It.
Most people think warehouse work is about moving boxes.
We don't.
At AFI, our Team keeps dozens of businesses moving. We receive freight from around the world, fulfill thousands of customer orders, build custom product bundles, assemble products, organize inventory, solve logistics problems, and constantly look for better ways to do the work.
We're looking for someone who enjoys building order from chaos.
Someone who notices when something could work better.
Someone who takes pride in doing things well, even when nobody is watching.
If that sounds like you, keep reading.
What You'll Be Doing
No two days at AFI are exactly alike.
On any given day you might:
- Receive and organize incoming freight
- Pick, pack, and ship e-commerce orders
- Build pallets for wholesale customers
- Perform light assembly and production work
- Label or repackage products
- Conduct inventory counts
- Operate pallet jacks, forklifts, freight elevators, and other warehouse equipment (we'll train you)
- Drive company vehicles for local pickups and deliveries
- Help improve the systems we use every day
Some work is physical.
Some work requires precision.
All of it matters.
The products we ship represent our customers' businesses, and we take that responsibility seriously.
The Reality
Here's something you'll notice quickly:
There is almost always more to do than we have time for.
A truck arrives late.
A customer suddenly needs a rush order.
Someone forgot to schedule a pickup.
An unexpected delivery shows up.
Priorities change. This isn't unusual.
It's simply the nature of what we do.
The people who thrive here don't spend time complaining that the plan changed.
They solve the problem in front of them, help their teammates, and keep moving.
What We're Looking For
Experience in warehousing, fulfillment, manufacturing, or logistics could be helpful.
It isn't required.
We've learned that these qualities matter far more:
- You genuinely enjoy working hard.
- You notice details that other people miss.
- You like things to be organized.
- You adapt well when plans change.
- You communicate honestly.
- You take ownership instead of making excuses.
- You enjoy learning new skills.
- You're comfortable lifting up to 50 pounds repeatedly throughout the day.
- You have reliable transportation and a clean driving record.
If you've ever reorganized a workspace simply because it made more sense...
If you've ever found yourself thinking, "There's got to be a better way to do this..."
You'll probably fit in well here.
How We Think
At AFI we call our most qualified team members Engineers.
Not because everyone has an engineering degree.
Because they embody the ethos of what engineers do.From the Cambridge Dictionary:
An engineer is a professional who applies scientific and mathematical principles to design, build, and maintain machines, structures, systems, or processes. As creative problem-solvers, they optimize solutions by balancing cost, safety, regulations, and material limitations to meet real-world needs.
They improve.
They solve problems.
They leave systems better than they found them.
Everything we do is guided by seven values:
- Craftsmanship
- Curiosity
- Constant Improvement
- Conscientiousness
- Candor
- Collaboration
- Consistency
We’re looking for people who care about doing excellent work, not just finishing it, and definitely not just collecting a paycheck.
What You'll Find Here
You'll work with some of the most interesting food, beverage, and consumer brands in the Pacific Northwest.
You'll be trusted with real responsibility.
You'll have the freedom to suggest improvements.
You'll learn warehouse operations, fulfillment, inventory management, production, logistics, and problem solving.
You'll never be treated like "just another warehouse employee."
Because that's not how we think about the people who build this company.
Room to Grow
Most people begin as a Prospect, demonstrate competence as an Apprentice, and ultimately earn the title of Engineer.
From there, opportunities can grow into other roles and expanded responsibilities.
AFI is still being built.
That means there is plenty of opportunity for people who consistently create value.
