Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse - Infusion to join our healthcare team. In this role, you will be responsible for providing high-quality infusion therapy to patients, ensuring their comfort and safety throughout the process. You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team in a fast-paced environment, making critical assessments and delivering exceptional patient care.
Responsibilities
- Administer intravenous (IV) medications and therapies according to established protocols and physician orders.
- Conduct thorough patient assessments to monitor responses to treatment and identify any complications.
- Maintain accurate medical documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations, ensuring confidentiality and security of patient information.
- Educate patients and their families about infusion procedures, potential side effects, and post-treatment care.
- Collaborate with physicians, pharmacists, and other healthcare professionals to develop individualized care plans.
- Perform phlebotomy as needed for blood draws or lab tests.
- Ensure the infusion area is clean, organized, and equipped with necessary supplies.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development activities to stay current with best practices in infusion therapy.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology and documentation practices.
- Experience working in a hospital or teaching hospital setting is preferred.
- Familiarity with pediatric care, including experience with children and toddler care, is advantageous.
- Excellent patient assessment skills to evaluate health status effectively.
- Ability to communicate clearly and compassionately with patients and their families.
- Proficiency in adhering to HIPAA regulations to protect patient privacy.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
